The Methodist Family Center Preschool provides a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow socially, emotionally, intellectually and spiritually. Each child’s self esteem and self-respect will grow as they learn to work and respect one another. The Methodist Family Center Preschool is a private school, and a separately-incorporated, wholly-owned subsidiary of the Darien Methodist Church. A school board of directors supervises the school’s activities. The school board committee is comprised of parents, church members, and employees of the school. This committee receives oversight by the church’s advisory board. The school is state licensed and approved by the local health and fire authorities. The preschool is accredited by the NAEYC (the National Academy of Early Child-hood Programs).

The Methodist Family Center Preschool Program Offers: A low teacher to child ratio.
Experienced, educated professionals working with your children.
Bright and clean classrooms with art, building, imaginary play, reading, water play, writing and quiet areas.
Age appropriate curriculum may include music, science, art, language, math, active play, cooking and dramatic play.
Gym time with great tumbling, climbing and rising equipment. Used both during free time and with the movement specialist.
A large kitchen used weekly for cooking projects.
Beautiful grounds for exploration and nature walks, and a terrific climbing structure constructed especially for ages 2-5 years old.
A music specialist to share the joy of music and movement.
Regularly scheduled guests including musicians, science specialist, animal specialist, exercise physiologist and storyteller /puppeteer.
A beautiful chapel available for weekly visits.
An extended day program available.
Registration is held in January of each year with a $50.00 registration fee. Priority for enrollment is given to church members, current students, siblings and concurrent siblings.

Toddler Program:
Offered FRIDAYS Only
A.M. class from 9:00 to 11:30
P.M. class from 11:30 to 1:30

Three Year Old Program:
2 days - Tuesday & Thursday
3 days - Monday, Wednesday & Friday
4 days - Monday through Thursday
A.M. class from 8:45 to 11:30
P.M. class from 12:00 to 2:45

Four Year Old Program:
4 days - Monday through Thursday
5 days - Monday through Friday
A.M. class from 8:45 to 11:30
P.M. class from 12:00 to 2:45

Pre-Kindergarten Program:
Offered for five year old children developmentally in need of an extra year before entering kindergarten.

We also offer
“Lunch Bunch” from 11:30 to 1:30
Extended Day from 11:30 to 2:45
Summer Camp in June and July from 9:00 to 12:00

* Note, class offerings may vary slightly each year depending on the needs of the student body.
* * All children applying must be of age by December 31st of the year they are applying for.
Exception: toddlers must be two years of age by October 1st.
