______________________________________________________________________________________________

MEETING FOR BEQUESTS:  MARCH 1ST!

In the past year, Darien UMC has been gifted two generous bequests from the estates of two beloved members, Evelyn Jones and Joan Lang. We wish to use these gifts in a manner that will support the continued work of DUMC in service to our Lord while also honoring our dear Evelyn and Joan!  On Sunday, March 1st (postponed from snowy January 25th), following the service at 11:30 am, all who are part of the work and ministry and the life of DUMC are invited to come together for a discussion as to how we put the funds to the best possible use. This will be a brainstorming session where all ideas will be heard and valued. PLEASE JOIN US FOR THIS EXCITING CONVERSATION!

JOIN US FOR OUR LENTEN STUDY!

We’ll return to one of our favorite authors for our Lenten study this year! Our study will include a short chapter to read each week and a weekly gathering for a video presentation and group discussion. Pastor Laura will offer two gatherings to accommodate different schedules:

  1. TUESDAYS, starting Tuesday, March 3rd at 1:30, in person at Rowayton United Methodist   Church.
  2. WEDNESDAYS (began February 25th) at 7:00 pm on ZOOM.

Let Pastor Laura (lgalbrai5@gmail.com) know if you are interested in joining one of the groups. ZOOM link will be provided prior to the first class for those who sign up.  “In the six-week study of ‘The Grace of Les Misérables’, author and pastor Matt Rawle dives into six ideals found in the story—grace, justice, poverty, revolution, love, and hope—each represented by a character in Hugo’s story. As these imperfect and relatable characters interact, we can see how these ideals work together (perhaps even in spite of each other) out in the world.”

SAVE THE DATE:  SATURDAY, MARCH 14TH — FEED MY STARVING CHILDREN food packing event at Middlesex MS.   Our time slot is 2:30-4:30 p.m. Registration is now open!  Please contact Marcia Voges (marciavoges@icloud.com) to register or for more information.
