WE WELCOME AND THANK Dale Borchert for leading Worship and sharing his message with us again this morning, while Pastor Laura is on vacation! Dale is a Certified Lay Servant from the Poughkeepsie United Methodist Church. Originally from the Buffalo area, he has lived in the Poughkeepsie area for over thirty years where he and his wife raised two children. Dale is a manager for the New York City Department of Environmental Protection where he directs the primary treatment of the City’s water supply. He was once active in local politics, and serves his community as a member of the Board of Habitat for Humanity of Dutchess and Putnam Counties, as a Board member for Dutchess County Water and Wastewater Authority and has been active in his local Masonic lodge.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR SUMMER WORSHIP IN AUGUST! DUMC will join RUMC and United Church once again at Pinkney Park for a shared Sunday worship (outside, weather-permitting, or inside RUMC), 9 A.M. RUMC & United Church already began 9 a.m. Worship at the park on June 28th, with Rev. Sal preaching through July. Bring a lawn chair (or we’ll have extras) or a blanket and join us for worship under the trees overlooking the water. We’ll show you where to park along the road in front of the park or in municipal parking, a 5-minute walk away. Dogs, cats, breakfast to-go, shorts and t-shirts are appropriate and most welcome! There will be no Worship Service at Darien UMC in August.
COFFEE WITH THE PASTOR AT ROWAYTON MARKET will resume in August (TBD)!
MFC PRESCHOOL NEWS: School is now closed for the Summer but registration is in progress for the 2026-27 school year! And would you like to donate a brick to the school entranceway? SUNDAY SCHOOL: Our Sunday School program for our elementary-age children will resume on non-Communion Sundays, in the Fall. We’re always looking for some more volunteers to help us staff our One Room Sunday School! We provide easy to follow curriculum, supplies and all that you need each week. If you would like to help engage our children more fully in the life of our congregation, please email Kimberly Servas @ servaskimberly@gmail.com. CHOIR NEWS: Choir always welcomes new members, so please see Jon if interested in singing this season to join our fun! Rehearsals are at 9:45 a.m. each Sunday and on some Saturday mornings, as needed.
